Sawyer is the Man...

Every day we are totally amazed with the progress that Sawyer is making. Every day I come home from work it seems like I come home to a new kid. He is opening up more and more every day. He is laughing more, running more, investigating more and testing our boundaries more. He is letting me play with him more, letting me put him to sleep at night, wanting me to throw him up in the air and swing him around more and more. He now doesn't just run over to mommy when he has a boo boo. It an amazing process to watch you child grow up and attach to you in such a short little time. He is truly the little man of the house!!

UPDATE: Cleft Surgery Scheduled....

Sawyer is scheduled for surgery on the 7th of November to repair his cleft palate. Three months after this surgery, he will need to have a lip revision done to connect muscles in his upper lip which were not connected properly in China. But, we (you) would never of known that by looking at this precious little boy's smile.

Meeting New Friends...

Sawyer has been busy since he has been back in meeting new friends. You have seen him with Melanie, our AWESOME neighbors' daughter from down the street. Last weekend we went to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle to meet our friends Mark and Lori, and their beautiful daughter McKaden. McKaden is only three day older than Sawyer and a wonderful little girl. They had a great time together looking at the animal and playing with the rails around the exhibits. What a fun day.

We can not leave out our good friends and Sawyer's God Parents Holly and Chip. Sawyer loves the attention they give him and the adventure they took him on at the beach. What a wonderful couple.

Friend's in Kunming Now...

Mr and Mrs D are in Kunming as we speak http://wunschmachen.blogspot.com/ The are now spending time with their little man Charlie and enjoying seeing the sights of one of the most beautiful areas in all of China. We are very jealous and wish we could take Sawyer back to his home town to immerse him more in the Kunming culture. http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/kunming.htm

Thank Yous...

To our families: Thank you for the support and love you all have given us throughout our Journey to Sawyer and now Sawyer's Journey. Sawyer loves all the toys and gift you have given him. He plays with them all the time.

Mark and Lori: Thank you for the prayers and support in our journey. It was a very special moment for us when you finally got to meet Sawyer. The look of happiness in your eyes was very heart warming and we look forward for many more "dates" for Sawyer and McKaden.

Then there is Mike and Nancy. We can not say enough good things about them and the advise they gave us when we went to Kunming. They are a very wonderful couple and AWESOME neighbors (did I already say that, well if I did, it needs to be repeated).

Finally, Chip and Holly: We can not thank you enough for listening to our frustrations, sadness and then overwhelming joy through out this entire ordeal. You are great friends and we are very proud to have you as part of our family.

With Love
Scott, Shelby and Sawyer

You guys have given us faith in people again - your friendship has meant more to us than we can ever express verbally.
We love you all so much, and are very honored to be "family'.

I have Sawyer's surgery date marked on my office calendar here in front of me. I am really looking forward to hearing how WELL he did with it. I know it will be hard on you all (the parents) too, and I'll be thinking of you on the 7th!
