Time For a Long Overdue Update...

Much has happened since the last update, so much I don't know where to start. First, our friends Mike, Nancy and Melanie are getting ready to leave tomorrow night for Taiwan to bring Melanie's new sister, Harley, home. After a very long wait, they finally get to meet her on Friday. We are very excited for them and can not wait to follow their journey on their blog.

For our family adventure this past weekend, we took the boys to the Camden Aquarium, across the river from Philadelphia. They loved watching the fish, sharks and hippos do their thing and I am sure the fish loved watching them do theirs.

Next, I have applied to become a Volunteer Fire Fighter for the Yardley-Makefield Fire Company. After I get voted in, they will send me to the Buck County Fire School in Doylestown, PA. Once I have completed the school, which will take about six months of weekend work, I will be certified as a Fire Fighter 1. I am very excited about this opportunity to serve the community and play with high powered toys.

Finally, we had an appointment for Saxton's Palate surgery today at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). He is tentatively scheduled for surgery on the 13th of Feburary, unless there is a cancellation earlier. The doctor said that six months after the palate surgery, he will do a revision on his lip and build up his nose. His lip and nose will be more complicated than Sawyer's surgery because Saxton has a unilateral cleft lip, where as Sawyer's was a bilateral cleft lip.

So that is pretty much what we have been up to. Here are some updated pictures for your enjoyment:

Weekend Trip to Massachusetts...

This past weekend we went up to Rowley and Ipswich, MA to visit Shelby's family. We all had a great time playing with Bupshi, Papa, Nana, Uncle Stephen, Aunt Debbie and Uncle Paul. This was the first time they all met Saxton and they all loved seeing the little character that he and Sawyer have become. Here are some pictures from this weekend...

New Pictures...

As most you you can tell, we have been fairly busy getting adjusted to life as a family of four. Finally, on Sunday night Sawyer and Saxton slept from 7:00 pm until 5:00 am, without waking up. This is the first time since we've been home they have slept through the night at the right time of day. No more six hour naps in the middle of the afternoon.

Sunday seemed to be the day when everybody finally felt better, also. Sawyer was laughing and playing like he normally would and Saxton had to follow along and do whatever big brother was doing. Let me tell you though, Saxton knows how to test the limits. He will look at you with this big evil smile, then point at something he knows he shouldn't do. When you tell him 'NO,' he'll look at you again with that big evil smile, then start to pout. Well, at least until you redirect him to something else.

Today we went to get the boys haircuts. Surprisingly, neither of them made a peep. Usually, Sawyer is screaming bloody murder. But, we let Saxton go first this time and I think Sawyer didn't want to be upstaged by his little brother.

And now...the new pictures...
