We Start our Journey

A couple of weeks ago, my wife received this e-mail with the image of this little boy with a cleft lip and palate from Kunming. She forwarded the picture to me and not knowing that she was thinking the same thing I was, I asked what we need to do. We contacted the agency and found out that the boy's paperwork would be sent back to CCAA on 04/20/2006 if nobody wanted him. We told them that from the moment we saw his picture, we knew this boy was our son. So, the ball started to roll and within a few days we had all of his available medical records.

We sent a copy of them over to our pediatrician at the University of Washington to review them. She said this little boy is in great shape and that the repair on his his lip looks awesome. Even more exciting news to hear. But, before we heard this from the doctor, we had already signed all the paperwork at the agency. We just couldn't wait to get the process started to bring our boy home.

Saturday the 22nd of April, we had a get together with our agency to meet the Facilitator from China. From talking to her, I could not believe how fast things are moving. On Thursday the 20th, they sent in the LOI to the CCAA. Then they told us that we could expect a TA in the next couple of months. This put us into panic mode. Ya see, we were on this plan to buy on big thing a month until we got the TA. But, that idea went flying out the window, we are now buying one big thing a week until the TA gets here.

So this weekend, we will be ripping out all the bedroom furniture from the spare bedroom and making it Sawyer's room. I can wait to go buy all the boy stuff to put in his room. Then I hope to redo some of the backyard so he can have a place to run and play and get dirty. We are very excited and can not wait to get him home.

We will keep you all posted.
