A Long, Long Overdue Update...

Please forgive us, we have been really busy the last month. First of all, we had a nightmare of a time with our upstairs bathroom. Long story short, we basically had it done twice. One tile job was really bad, so we had to hire another person to come in and completely tear out the tile and replace it with new tile. This all started the day after Thanksgiving and we finally were able to use the bathroom two days after Christmas. Thank God we had two bathrooms or else I would have gone nuts.

While this fiasco was going on, my parents came in from Denver over Christmas. We did not get to do as much as we wanted to do because of the bathroom situation, but we did get to go down the Philly to see the Liberty Bell and the outside of Independence Hall.
The boys had a great time at Christmas. They got every Thomas the Tank Engine known to mankind from their Bupshi, Papa and Uncle Steven, they even got the train table. This is now officially their favorite toy to play with.
We were also blessed with a phone call from Verizon, a couple days after Christmas, with a job offer. Of course I accepted and I just started last week as a Sales Consultant. It looks like it will be a very exciting change from the Telephone Engineering I did at Qwest back in Seattle. I am very excited about this opportunity.

Finally, we received an update picture of our beautiful daughter.
Here is where you all can help us out. We are stuck on trying to pick out her name. We have come up with three names that we really like, but we can not use all three. The names are: Soleil (pronounced Solay), Samara, or Saffi. Please let us know which name you all like the best by leaving a comment or sending us an email.

I'm guilty, too. I look at your site constantly waiting to hear something and I'm SO happy to see more photos! Sounds like you've had lots of stuff going on and I'm glad your bathroom is done.....again..... Congrats on the job with Verizon! You're still starting training to be a fireman, right?

The update photo of your new daughter is awesome. I bet you can't wait to get her home, can you? Well, I vote for Soleil. Good luck picking a name and here's to getting to travel before you expect to!

Take care guys! Hugs and kisses from Uncle Mike, Anutie Nancy, Melanie and Harley :)

I vote for Samara. Just like the sound of it. She is adorable and the boys look like they're having a blast with the train

I like them all! Do you have to decide before you travel? Maybe she could choose! Of course, using that logic, The Boy would be named, "meh!" and The Blonde, "nonai."

Hi! You don't know me from Adam, but I followed your blog for Saxton - I think I must have found your through AdoptCleft? Or a link on another blog? Anyway, I am excited to follow your journey while I wait for LOA for my own daughter. I think you should stick with names that start with "Sa..." like the two boys. Is Saffi short for anything - I looked it up and saw "Saffie - pet form of Saffron". I liked the names Sasha and Sadie when picking our daughter's name, but my husband wasn't on the same page. Good luck!

Mike's two cents worth, given the choice of the three it would have to be "Samara", the name for the winged seed of my favorite plant, the Japanese Maple.

However, since the boys in the family have "S" names and the girls in the family have "SH" names, Shelby and Xiaoke. I would like to throw a name in the hat, Shaina, pronounced SHAY-nah, meaning "Beautiful" and the name of my favorite variety of Japanese Maple.

Now I will step down and wipe the soap off my feet :)

Congratulations to all of you, Mike

Oh, I cannot decide ... I like all the names. I have really tried to give this some thought - Soliel reminds me that she is your little sunshine - Samara was name of a sweet friend of mine - and Saffi sounds sassy and fun - what do you know of her personality? Miss you guys! Lori
ps we are putting off our travel until March to get Max

Wow! What exciting news you're going to be "S" to the power of five!

Sorry I haven't peeked in awhile -- things are busy here at Zymo but I had a minute this afternoon and so happy to read of your news.

As for names -- I think I like Samara the best -- but they are all beautiful and very unique.

I will make a point of stopping by more often to see of your progress.

Hey Smith family....hope you are all doing much better with the bathroom stuff taken care of, Scott working with his new job, the boys getting closer and having more and more fun every day, and now the excitement of a daughter/sister about to join to clan.

I really like the name Samara. She looks like a Samara in her pictures!

Hopefully we'll get the chance to meet her and Saxton in person this year, as well as, see you two and Sawyer again too!!

Good luck with the name decision. Take care and we'll chat soon.

I need another update ... how are you?! I also want to know what size shoes the boys are wearing ...McKaden is a 7.5 and it seems that she and Max are similar in size - we are getting 3T clothes but wonder about shoes ... were you able to find the boys shoes when you traveled? Thanks! Lori
