Trying to keep up with......Sawyer

Over the last month, Sawyer has blossomed into a special little man. He has become more and more vocal,
inquisitive, and the best of all, more hilarious. He is definitely coming out of his shell.

We will be honest, it has not always been sunshine, rainbows and ladybugs. Sawyer, Mom and Dad have had their challenges. It took some time for Sawyer to warm up to his Ba Ba. Just over the past few weeks, Sawyer and Ba Ba have created a special bond. Sawyer, for the first time a couple of days ago, gave Ba Ba a kiss and looked deep into his eyes as to say, "I know you are my daddy and I know you will protect me, teach me, and help me grow. Thank You!!" I have seen him do this to his Ma Ma many times, the first time was the second day he was in our arms while we were walking through the orphanage. We were in a room with other special needs children, wishing we could take them all home, when he turned to his Ma Ma, grabbed her cheeks and gave her a big kiss. Then he stared into her eyes as to same the same thing. He is our pride and joy. I know can look into his eyes and say, "Thank you my little man for coming into our lives. In the short time you have been here, you have taught us the special meaning of being a family. We love you very much and Thank You, we are the special ones."

Since the beginning of December, we have been getting ready for my favorite holiday, Christmas. We bought this huge tree to fill up the front window.
Now we have to get enough gifts for Sawyer to put under the tree. We did buy him a rocking moose, already, and he loves to ride it on front of the tree. He run his hands through the tree and sometime he puts his horse in the tree and tries to rock. But, Ba Ba spoils his fun when he moves the moose out of the tree.
November 28th was Sawyer's Birthday. So we had a Birthday party for him on the 2nd of December. He got spoiled. He loves to play with the Dump Truck that Melanie got him. He drives it under the Christmas Tree and dumps ornaments into the back. He also loves to play with the rescue pack that McKaden gave him. Mom and Dad can sing almost every song on the rescue pack, coming to the rescue... BTW-McKaden was born three days before Sawyer. She is an awesome little girl with a great personality, that I am sure she gets from her parents.Oh, Yea, who needs the red couch? In Maple Valley, we have the Brown couch.
Sawyer was very thankful for all the gift he received and all the people that came to his party. Thank You!!

Our First Family Thanksgiving was a great time. Sawyer could not get enough of the sweet potatoes and the pumpkin pie. Too much fun.

Finally, the day after Thanksgiving, Sawyer and Ma Ma hopped a plane to Boston to see her parents and her brother. Sawyer's Bupshe(sp?), Papa and Uncle Steven. I will have Shelby write that story. We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday and continue to have a Wonderful Holiday Season.

Scott, Shelby and Sawyer.

The photos are priceless and his party was so so much fun (of course, I finally got my Sawyer-fix). Melanie had so much fun playing with all the kids, hard to believe she's one of the oldest :( Hey, Holly! We missed you!
